Under the baton of our resident conductor Mr Lin Ah Leck,
the Temasek Junior College Symphonic Band (TJCSB), established in 1977, has dedicated itself for the past 32 years to achieving musical excellence. The band has consistently attained prestigious awards at various local and regional band competitions. Coming in 1st runner-up in the 5th Asian Band Competition held in Bangkok, achieving 11 consecutive Gold awards at the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging, including the elusive Gold with Honours in 2005.
The band was also involved in an overseas exchange trip to Osaka, Japan in 2008 and also had a very successful concert on the 23rd of May.

The details on appeal auditions for 2012 intake are as follows.
Date: 17 Jan (Tuesday) and 19 Jan (Thursday) 2012 Time: 430-630 PM Venue: TJC Band room
Please prepare a short excerpt (1-2 minutes) from either a piece you have played with the band before, or a solo piece. You will also be tested on sight-reading and be asked to play some scales.
Please also bring along: 1. You O Level Results slip 2. Your Report Book (with Sec 1-4 results)

Tjcsb's annual fiesta concert is here again! This year, our theme is Kaleidoscope, as we promise to offer you a wide variety of songs, including To A New Dawn, Bohemian Rhapsody, Highlights From 'Spirited Away' and many more!

DSA auditions are here again! For secondary 4/5s who have been inspired by our very successful prelude 31 concert staged last saturday, or have already set their hearts on tj band, you'll get the chance to prove your chops during our auditions! Details are as follows:
DSA auditions 2011 Date: 4 & 7 June 2011 (saturday and tuesday resepectively) Time: 9am-1pm Venue: TJC band room
Prepare a piece to perform the audition. Be expected to be tested on scales and sight-reading.

Part One: i) Thank you so much to those who've volunteered to help out in the Chamber Concert! Plus Ting and Bertram of course. :D You guys have been uber awesome and Lord of the Dance was pleasant!! Lol. xD

Part Two: Congratulations to all of you for you are now the seniors of TJBand! It's been great having such a fun bunch of kids around! dsa auditions for 2011 intake
Hello all you sec 4-ers!
A note for you peeps in case you're wondering.
The deadline for the DSA Application is the 12th of July 2010, i.e. filled in and submitted to the school by that date. You can obtain the application form from the school website at www.tjc.edu.sg and look under Temasek News right in the middle of the page for the DSA link.
Also, you can come down on any 1 of the 3 dates stated in the past few entries for the DSA auditions. Again, our audition dates are 2nd June, 6th Julyand 8th July. If you happen to be unavailable on all 3 days but would still wish to audition for TJBand, don't fret. We would appreciate it if you would send us an email stating that you're unable to make it and we would gladly try our best to audition you on another day. Other than that, please try to make it and adhere to the time period stated.
Do not worry if you have not completed the DSA Application form by the day of the audition. It is not necessary that you submit your DSA Application form on the day itself when you come down for audition. But if you have everything that is required in your application and wish to submit early, you can pass it to us on the audition day and we would gladly submit it to the school on your behalf. :)
